Yoon has been an Iyengar Yoga practitioner since 1998. As a graduate of the 500-Hour Teacher Training program of the Institute of Iyengar Yoga of San Francisco, she was certified as a teacher in 2015.

The fluent yoga classes are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, who was one of the pioneers that brought yoga to the West. Mr. Iyengar believed that the benefits of yoga are available to all regardless of age, gender and physical ability. Moreover, he invented and freely shared props to help his students in yoga poses. A typical Iyengar Yoga teacher must study and practice to meet the strict standards regarding detailed instruction, correction and focus on proper alignment of the body and mind. Yoga poses (Asanas) that most people think of as yoga are simply one element in the elegantly rich and complex philosophical system that originated in ancient India. As a teacher, Yoon considers it her responsibility to share the intellectual underpinnings of yoga as well as bringing the latest medical research to bear upon her practice and teaching.

Yoon was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She immigrated with her family to New York City and studied Classics and Near Eastern Studies at Cornell University. After a Master of Philosophy degree in Ancient Greek History from Lincoln College, Oxford University, she worked on Wall Street and then had a career in marketing. When not teaching, she is either reading about yoga or dancing.
